SUYS October Challenge

Hey guys, I'm back and sharing with you Show Us Your Stuff's October challenge which is this awesome sketch created by Chloe!
This month we have Kellie Stamps sponsoring so be sure to get your entries in to go into the draw to win!
And here is my interpretation of the sketch!
I used a background I had previously created but didn't end up using at the time. I often create backgrounds but don't end up using them so it felt great to finally use one.
My handmade embellishment is a flair from APOCD!
These butterflies are created using Heidi Swapp resist paper and delusions ink!

Be sure to head over to the blog for more amazing DT samples.
Until next time!

THE SCRAPPERY

March? MARCH?
Hi guys, I'm so sorry for my lack of blogging! I'm sure I wasn't missed too much. I haven't been blog hopping for months. I mostly get my inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram these days and that's where I promote challenges as well.
For the past few months I was struggling to balance scrapbooking commitments, with Uni and travelling to and from home. I was cast in the Bendigo Threatre Company's production of Chicago, one of my favourite musical, which means during my semester break (which I thought I would spend scrapbooking) I was travelling back and forth between home and Uni.
My masters projects have been my top priority (and obviously I can't show you those) which means any other scrapbooking commitments, let alone scrapbooking for myself, have been pushed aside.

TO THE POINT!
I am amazingly thrilled to be joining Nae and Kayla on The Scrappery Creative Team. The Scrappery, if you haven't heard of it, is a brand new kit club specialising in Project Life and traditional scrapbooking kits right here in Australia.
I will be working with The Scrappery Kit and the Bits and Pieces Kit.
Below are some sneaks of what I created with Jericho, which is the TSK for September.
I also created a PROCESS VIDEO which you can watch here. Or the blog post here.

I also created a layout using the BPK, Elsa. I also used some pits and pieces from Jericho and some products from my own stash. Check out the full layout here.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you like what you see here please be sure to follow the links for more.

123 March Challenge

Hi again,
Today I have another challenge from 123 to get your mojo flowing.
Here's the criteria:
And here's my sample.
I have hand drawn several frames on some white card stock, first with pencil then with pen, then filled them in with watercolour(mist).
I then used a small craft knife to cut out the centre of each frame before placing some patterned paper behind the windows. I then stitched around the edges of the frame.
I then added some emphemera from Heidi Swapp and a few resins.

You still have plenty of time to complete the challenge. Head over to the blog for more stunning DT examples.

123 February Challenge

February's challenge is finally up over at 123. We apologise for the delay but you still have a month, til 22nd of March, to complete your layouts with this amazing prompt.

Here is my sample...

I have used a few different shades of purple on my layout, both with hints pink and blue hues.
I used papers from Heidi Swapp and Dear Lizzy and some Heidi Swapp Ephemera.

I created a sequin pocket from tulle for something different.

I hope you like my sample.
Please head over to the 123 Challenge blog for more yummy DT inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by,

A Challenge and a Mood Board- Just For You!

Happy Valentine's Day to you all!
My gift to you is a challenge and a colour palette to get you inspired.

The SUYS challenge this month is a quote challenge which is:
"Follow your heart and happiness will follow".
I thought this was such a versatile quote. Still capturing the month of love without restricting your layout to a romantic one.

I went with quite a 'Valentine's Day' inspired palette. I really love the combination of pinks, reds and purples and also added a hint of orange and gold.

My handmade embellishment is the purple button which I made from Polymer clay.

For the background I added some coloured mist to some texture paste and spread it over a stencil. I used a gradient effect to capture all the colours (though it is hard to tell as the middle section is covered).

And as promised here is the palette I put together using the colours featured on my layout.
I LOVE putting together mood boards. There is something satisfying about finding a collection of images that compliment each other so well colour wise. All images below were sourced from Pinterest.

Please head over to Show Us Your Stuff and have a look at the other DT examples. I'm sure you'll find something to inspire you there if my mood board hasn't already. Don't forget your hand embellishment on your layout either.

Thanks for stopping by today,
Sophie xx

Lost Your Mojo?

Has the heat melted away your creativity? Well I have two great challenges to inspire you this month.

As of this month I am on the DT at the 123 Challenge Blog. I am super excited to be a part of the team.
January's challenge is:
And my sample:

{Removed for Publication}

I have been obsessed with using orange on my layouts recently. I wouldn't say it's my favourite colour but I think it looks great with lots of other colours, especially pink and mint.
For this layout I covered some white cardstock with modelling paste mixed with some pink and orange mist. I then doodled some feathers on the back and cut them out with a craft knife. I ended up using it as a mask as well.

And if that doesn't interest you (I don't know why it wouldn't), here's another challenge.

January is Vicki's first month running SUYS and here is the challenge.
You must take inspiration from any of these images and include a handmade embellishment. I went for a NewYear Eve's theme and took inspiration from the two, top right hand images. I used the pump from an orange mist bottle and wrote '2013' all over some white card stock.
Here's what it looks like...
I really love the bright colour against the black.

I hope one of these challenges inspires you to get creating this weekend. I might have to have ago at some different ones myself.

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy Scrapping,
Sophie xx

I'm a...

I am beyond thrilled to FINALLY announce I'm a Scrapbooking Memories Master for 2014 (which most of you are probably already aware).
Eeek! This has been a dream of mine for some years now and I'm so thankful to be given this opportunity.

This is first time I've entered the competition even though I have wanted to for the past few years.
I am always so inspired by the Master's creations and hope I can inspire all of you over the year.

This process was actually I lot more stressful than I thought it would be! We went on a holiday to Broome (which is documented in one of my projects) while I was working on my entries. I didn't realise I only had a week afterwards to finish them and even start one layout.
This was especially difficult as I avoid double layouts and rarely work with larger photos, so I spent hours on these pages.

What is the Masters challenge? For those friends and family member's who don't know, the Master's challenge is a competition set by Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. There are four challenge criteria, this year was to create a handmade background, use a 5x7 photo, create a double layout documenting a journey and make a 2014 calendar.
10 winners are chosen and receive a bundle of goodies from each sponsor, and are also required to create a layout for each issue throughout the year using the sponsors products.
I signed a confidentiality agreement and was able to reveal this until just before Christmas. Longest 3 months ever.

The Masters Issue went on on sale on the 2nd of January for those of you who are interested. Here's what it looks like.

Have a look at the other Master's work-

I look forward to sharing my entries and a little bit more about them as soon a I can.

Thanks for stopping by,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
