An Itty Bitty Obsession

Hi guys, have you seen my layout on the D-lish Scraps blog this month?
I have featured the very cute Bitty Blooms which are available at the store for only one dollar a pack (25)! It is definitely worth adding them to your next order!

I love the effect they created, the texture, the colour, I think I may now be obsessed with them! For a full product list and more info on my layout head over to the D-lish Scraps blog!

SUYS December Challenge

Hi all,
This months challenge at Show Us Your Stuff is to use the word JOY on your layout.
It is also Marelle's last month in charge of the site. She has done a fabulous job and will defiantly be missed. Even more incentive to get your entry in this month hey?
She had planned to close the site at the end of 2013 but the very generous Vicki Burdon has offered to take over the reigns. I will be staying on the DT as will a few other DT members but shortly a call will go out to find new members to create with us.

Anyway here is my take on the challenge...

I have used an assortment of different Christmas papers and some ephemera from Heidi Swapp. The starburst mask is also from Heidi Swapp as is the lovely colour shine.
My handmade embellishments are a Christmas flair from APOCD and a lollipop from Charm's Creations.

I hope you find some time in your busy Christmas schedule to have a go at our challenge. Maybe even submit a page from your December Daily?
Make sure you head over to the blog from more DT inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by,

Going for Gold

Hi guys,
Just popping by to show you some layout I created using my latest obsession- GOLD.
The first is for November's colour challenge at Scrap Friends. This isn't usually a colour combo I'd use but I was super keen to try it out and I really LOVE the result. As you can see I've opted for a mixed media background.

I also created a layout inspired by this AMAZING mood board over at Jot. I loved the colours so much I knew I needed to have a go at the challenge.
So here is my take. I took inspiration from (1) by creating a tissue paper background and tearing sections back to achieve a similar look/feel. I was also inspired by the ombre flowers and obviously the colour palette.

I have one more to show you which is for 123. The challenge was TEAL, STAMPING AND "COOL". No gold on this one!
I created the background by applying white tissue paper with modelling paste, spraying it with mist and then tearing off some sections of tissue paper when I realised I had added too much colour. I quite like the result.
And a close-up of a gorgeous mini runner from Charm. They are so cute!

Thanks for stopping by!
Can you believe it's almost December? So looking forward to it!
Have a great weekend!

SUYS November Challenge

Hey guys! Can you believe it is November already? Well it's already flying by but you still have plenty of time to complete the challenge at SUYS!
Novembers challenge is to use PAINT & WASHI TAPE! Two of my favourite things to use on my layouts! And super easy too!
Here's my sample!

I created these 'bullet holes' using eyelets and Mister Huey's mist. I love that I was able to use some old  supplies in a unique way! I was so excited when I came up with the idea, it suits the layout perfectly! (I have two 'bullet holes' in the side of my head, which you can't see in the photo).

The photos are from a recent Halloween party I attended! I think this is the first time I've actually dressed up for Halloween. Only deciding about 6 hours before the event that I would attend it, I created this zombie look at the last minute with make-up and my friend had some watercolour I used for blood!

Sponsoring the challenge this month is A Lil' Somethin' whose flair I used as my handmade embellishment. The Dusty Attic are also donating a prize to one of our lucky winners. So make sure you enter to go in the running to win these awesome prizes from our generous sponsors.

Thanks for stopping by today, I would love to see your layouts linked on the SUYS blog soon!
Happy Scrapping,
Sophie xx

SUYS October Challenge...

...is to use multiple photo's and arrows! (Plus your handmade embellishment)!
Here's my sample...

I used some Basic Grey chipboard pieces which mum had given me that morning, perfect timing. I knew I wanted to use these photos but didn't know exactly how I'd make the colours work. I can't believe how perfectly the colours in the chipboard matches the hues in the photo's.

I have also used products from Flutterby Designs as they are sponsoring this months challenge. This is the first time I have used their products and I loved them so much I went online and purchased some
more. I don't own a Silhouette Cameo (yet) so I love that you can purchase the designs already cut. The 3 gorgeous flair and 'beautiful' tab are also from the store.

Thanks for stopping by! Please head over to SUYS and check out the other CT samples! They are stunning!
And make sure you play along with this months challenge! So easy and fun and there are great prizes up for grabs!

Pink Balloons

My last layout to share with you this month is for Scrap the Girls. I loved this colour combo, so bright and girly.
I thought it would be too much to use a solid colour as my background, so I grabbed some white cardstock (as usual) and used mist and water to create this ombre effect. I really loved how it turned out. It does look more vibrant in real life.

The lighting was perfect this afternoon when I took these that I couldn't decide which to add, so I added a few. Enjoy!

These printed Kaisercraft chipboard pieces worked perfectly with my layout. 'Yay' for using up our stash!

I hope you like it. I really love how it turned out!

A Sweet Cupcake Kit...

Hi all,

The first layout I have to share with you today is created for the sketch challenge at Kraft It Up.
I loved it. It is one of those that really gets your mojo flowing. I can think of a few different layouts I can create using the sketch but here is what I ended with...

Our computer had been out of action for some time so I wasn't able to print any new photo. I ended up rummaging through our scrap room to see what I could find and I found these gems. Haha, I love the colours though.

All products (well almost all) are from A Piece Of Cake Design's August kit. I fell in love with these papers from My Minds Eye.
If you haven't noticed I am currently obsessed with scollop circles.

The next layout is for the 123 Challenge. The criteria- pink, florals and the word, sweet. Again I used products from the kit and added some Dear Lizzy products as I thought they went together perfectly.

I created my own little paper garland using a butterfly punch and machine stitching . I thought it was a different way to incorporate the patterned papers I love on my layouts.

Thanks for popping by today!
I will be back later in the week with some exciting news! Yay!

Sunday Scrap

Hi everyone,
Just popping by to share with you I layout I scrapped today. Yay!
I used the Stuck 15th Sketch (which is luckily still running). The extra criteria was to use the colours in their banner- blue, green and red. I used orange instead of red as it worked much better on the layout (and I wanted to use that gorgeous Cherry Flair). Plus, I think some of the brads in the banner have an orange tinge.

So here's what I created...

Thanks for popping by today,
Have a great week...

Seeing Red (and White)!

Hi everyone!
Have you seen the challenge over at SUYS? yet? Septembers criteria is to use the colours red and white (and a handmade embellishment of course).
Here is my sample...
I used a lollipop from Charm's Creations has my handmade item. I also added specks of yellow and blue because I was I thought it had to much of a Christmassy feel. Is it too early for Christmas layouts?

It doesn't feel like that long ago we went to see this match. Then I looked at the ticket... Round 5...that was like April... WOW, how time flies!

Thanks for popping by today!
I hope you are enjoying this glorious weather!

Sketch Time!

Hey there,
Just popping by to share some layouts I created this month!
The first is for Scrapfriends Sketch Challenge! If you've seen the sketch, you'd see I've rotated it! I initially had it around the right way but experimented and found this looked best!

Next is a challenge for Stuck!? using the August 1st Sketch! The additional criteria, because it's their birthday month, was to create a birthday themed layout. I chose to use photo's from Zara's 1st B'day which was at the end of July. Amanda puts a lot of effort into her girls parties and does an amazing job, so of course I always take plenty of photos of the pretty party food and gorgeous decor. The theme for Zara's party was a Teddy's Bears Picnic, which is ironic because she cries at the sight of them (apparently).
I even managed to include some memorabilia, a party straw.

Only one week of Winter left! Yay! Hope you had a great month!
Thanks for stopping by!
