Sketch Time!

Hey there,
Just popping by to share some layouts I created this month!
The first is for Scrapfriends Sketch Challenge! If you've seen the sketch, you'd see I've rotated it! I initially had it around the right way but experimented and found this looked best!

Next is a challenge for Stuck!? using the August 1st Sketch! The additional criteria, because it's their birthday month, was to create a birthday themed layout. I chose to use photo's from Zara's 1st B'day which was at the end of July. Amanda puts a lot of effort into her girls parties and does an amazing job, so of course I always take plenty of photos of the pretty party food and gorgeous decor. The theme for Zara's party was a Teddy's Bears Picnic, which is ironic because she cries at the sight of them (apparently).
I even managed to include some memorabilia, a party straw.

Only one week of Winter left! Yay! Hope you had a great month!
Thanks for stopping by!

SUYS August Challenge

Hi everyone,
Can you believe it's August already? Well, it is, and with a new month comes a new challenge. Yay! Over at SUYS this month we are collaborating with Sketches With A Twist, meaning this months challenge is a sketch challenge.

And here's my sample...

This layout was so easy to put together. I have used papers from Amy Tan's Yes, Please collection as the colours compliment those in the photo so well. I have also used die-cuts from Amy Tan and butterflies from Studio Calico. My handmade embellishment, the blue spiral flower, was created by me.
I love the bright blue hues in the photo's which were taken on our recent holiday to Broome. We were lucky enough to take a sea plane out to the Horizontal Falls giving me the opportunity to capture these images.

Make sure you head over to both Show Us Your Stuff and Sketches With A Twist to have a look at the other DT sample and check the terms and conditions for this challenge (as far as I know you can enter at both sites as long as you have met the criteria for both challenges).

Thanks for stopping by,
Happy scrapping,
Sophie xx

May Challenges

Hi everyone, sorry it's been so long!
I have 4 layouts to share with you before the month ends! Can somebody please tell me where May has gone please! I guess it was a pretty eventful month for me!

The first I created for Scrap Friends sketch challenge. I am a big fan of their sketches, they are so detailed yet easy to interept! I love that they have a grungy style, slightly similar to mine.

This layout feautures the new Dear Lizzy range (which I purchased from APOCD, as well as their new Cupcake Kit). I have been wanting to get my hand on these papers for so long! I love the colour scheme even though it is not one I would usually go for on my layouts, maybe thats why I like it so much.
Anyway, this layout is for the 123 Challenge, which is to use the colour red, the word happy, and balloons.
Next, I had a go at the Scrap the Girls challenge. The challenge is to use the quote- "A smile is the best makeup a girl can wear".

And lastly, I had ago at the challenge over at White with 1. At first I wasn't interested in this challenge because as you can probably tell I rarely use black on my layouts. But I thought I'd have fun with it, use lots of different mediums and add a bright photo.
Thanks for stopping by, hopefully I'll be back sooner rather than later.
Happy scrapping,
Sophie K

SUYS April Challenge

Today I'm here to share with you this months's challenge over at Show Us You Stuff. April's challenge is to scrap a 6.5x11 inch layout! Here is my sample...

I haven't scrapped a smaller in a really long time but I've always thought symmetry was most flattering on smaller, rectangle LO's. I thought I would make the photo the star in this LO because I really love it!
All items, excluding some washi tape, are from an older kit from APOCD, including my handmade item.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head over to SUYS (if you haven't already) and check out the other DT samples, and of course, enter the challenge!
